Holiday Events for the family in Naples! November 30-December 6

Holiday season is in full swing and here in Naples, Florida we have tons of events for the whole family to enjoy! Every week, we will be posting some events that the Hilton Naples team members think you should not miss out on this season. Here is our recommendations for the week of November 30-December 6.

On December 2nd, the Mercato will be hosting their annual holiday tree lighting ceremony. This event begins at 5pm, and features the largest living tree in Southwest Florida! There will also be live performances and there is free admission to this event. Because the Mercato is only ten minutes away from the Hilton Naples, this event would be a good way to start off December.

December 3rd is the 41st Annual Christmas walk & tree lighting ceremony. This is an annual event located at 5th Avenue South from 5pm-8:30pm and you do not want to miss out. Walk up and down 5th Avenue looking at the amazing lights and watch in awe as the tree lights up for the first time this holiday season. There will be live performances and Santa and Mrs. Claus will be there to pass out candy and take photos with the children. No admission fee!

December 5th is a big day in Naples with tons of family things to do! Begin at the holiday car show and Toys for Tots drive at Mercato from 10am-3pm with free admission. Walk around and look at 150 cars including Ferraris, Aston Martins, Maseratis, and more! They are also going to be doing a Toys for Tots drive, so bring an unwrapped toy for a child this holiday season.
After the car show, head to the East Naples food and music fest at Florida's Sports Park. This big fest is held from 11am-9pm rain or shine! Glisten to liven music, enjoy great food from Naples restaurants, arts and crafts along with merchant vendors, and more! Bringing chairs and blankets is encouraged. Admission is $10 per adult and children 10 and under are free when accompanied by an adult.
End the day at Holiday on the Bay at the Village on Venetian Bay. Enjoy a beautiful snow show, take complimentary pictures with Santa, listen to stories told by Mrs. Claus, and holiday carolers will be walking around singing everyone's favorite songs all evening. The Village has wonderful dining and shopping as well. With free admission and the snow show starting at 7pm, this would be a great ending to a fun-filled day.

Also on December 5th and 6th, the Artis Naples is putting on the beloved holiday classic, The Nutcracker. Performed the Miami City’s Ballet with a cast of more than 100 people with beautiful sets and costumes, this is sure to be a holiday treat for the whole family to enjoy! Tickets begin at $15 per person. There are two showings on December 5th (2pm and 8pm) and one showing December 6th (2pm.) Tickets are available online and over the phone at (239) 597-1111.

The Happiest Holiday Toys That Any Child Would Love

The holiday season is a few weeks away! What are you going to get for your children? Here is a list of the top 5 hottest gifts your kids are going to love!

·        Fischer-Price Smart Toy Bear
o   Age: 3+
o   This bear is extremely cool! It is an interactive play experience for your child and it adapts to developmental changes. It also remembers your child’s name, favorite food, favorite colors, and more! The bear suggests that they should go on adventures, read stories together, and play games. The bear links up with an app that you can get on your smartphone that monitors your child’s progress and activity. They also have a version of this toy as a monkey if your child does not prefer bears.

·        Girl Scout Cookie Oven
o  Age: 8+
o   Everyone loves Girl Scout Cookie season, some people stock up spending hundreds of dollars on cookies. Why? Because they are delicious and they are only around for a limited time. What if there was a way that you can make your own Girl Scout cookies whenever you wanted? Well, now there is with the Girl Scout Cookie Oven! Similar to an Easy Bake Oven, your child will be able to be their own little chef by making their favorite cookies. This oven takes almost half the time as the competitor to cook something (15 minutes vs. 30 minutes), there is a window that the child can watch the cookies bake, and there is a warming station at the top of the oven to heat and melt the delicious cookie coatings. The oven comes with the best seller Thin Mint, but the other different kind of cookies to make are available to buy.

·        Disney’s Frozen Sing-A-Long Elsa
o   Age: 3+
o   Even though Frozen came out two years ago this holiday season, little girls are still in love with Ana and Elsa. Well now this holiday season, you can surprise them with their own Elsa doll who will sing along with her to the award winning song, Let It Go! The doll comes with a microphone that recognizes who is singing and whenever your child is done singing a part, have her put the microphone back to Elsa’s mouth and she will continue to sing where your child left off. To add some extra magic, her dress and necklace glow with blue colors. The doll does require 5 AAA batteries and also has a Spanish mode.

·        Star Wars Bladebuilders Jedi Master Lightsaber
o  Age: 4+
o   This holiday season, one genre of toy is standing out the most because of the new series coming to theaters: Star Wars. And this holiday season, your little Jedi warrior can let their imagination run wild with this toy by letting them create over 100 combinations of lightsabers. Simply twist and snap pieces to start customizing their own Lightsaber blade. The main blade features lights and sounds, two independently lit light daggers, and different connectors. This set is also customizable with other Bladebuilders Lightsabers (which are sold separately.)

Guitar Hero Live
o  Age: 13+
o   Guitar Hero is back and better than ever! The guitar is completely redesigned from before so it feels like you are actually switching strings like your child would on an actual guitar. The game is also now in first person point of view, so your child can really see what it is like from the stage. The “live” audience is interactive by praising during a good performance, and turning on a poor one. Your child can also go against people at home, and people online. Guitar Hero is making a comeback in a big way, don’t let your child be left out!

Consider donating toys to the Toys for Tots program and put a smile on a kids' face this holiday season.
